Teens terrorising Southport caught on camera

Last night a bus on Eastbank Street was attacked by a group of youths. Earlier in the evening a group of 5 teenage boys were spotted on the roof of Southport Indoor Market throwing stones/bricks onto traffic below, Wednesday 27 April 2016.

The person who witness these kids said: “There were 5 in total, throwing stones/bricks down. This was at 6.30pm on the building behind Southport indoor Market.

Merseyside police are now investigating  – they have received incident logs for a number of similar incidents.

Back in February Merseyside Police were desperately trying to crack down on a group of 40 or more vandals who have plagued Southport Town Centre over that period.

A dispersal order was even put into effect  in an attempt to cut down on the high levels of anti social behaviour which has been rife throughout Southport Town Centre.

Now Merseyside Police are promising to crack down on the issue with a temporary dispersal order, meaning increased powers to break up congregations of youngsters even if they do not appear to be causing any issues.
