Southport parents are calling for Sefton Council to install CCTV at Southport Skate Park after another unprovoked assault on a young innocent skateboarder.

The incident took place on Saturday 11th August 2012, at Southport town centre Skate Park.

One worried parent said: When gangs go onto the park looking for trouble the kids using the park often have to run to McDonalds for safety, there is nowhere to hide in the park, one way in and the same way out. It’s about time the Council deterred thugs from entering the park by installing CCTV cameras and putting signs up telling them they are being monitored!

The new £150,000 skate park was officially opened by the Mayor of Sefton Cllr David Pearson in 2004.
