Their contribution means that Byng House will eventually have poppies growing to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. The children and staff were also given an informal presentation about Byng House and the Poppy Breaks they offer and will receive a certificate of thanks as well as a thank you letter from Kay Naidoo, Deputy Manager. Kay said: “Having the children in from Tadpoles Nursery in was a great way of reaching the local community and allowing them to understand the importance of the centenary of WWI. It was a great way of engaging with local nurseries too and we hope that others will also come forward to discover what Byng House offers to those who are serving in the British Armed Forces and for those that are a Veteran of the British Armed Forces.” If you would like to purchase seeds and leave a message of commemoration at Byng House, please contact Rachel Kennedy at Byng House on 01704 537875 or by email on [email protected] Seeds are a minimum donation of £3 and can be spread on the front gardens at Byng House.
