UPDATE : Police discover criminal base in Grosvenor Court Southport

Update – Merseyside Police can confirm two people have been arrested following an incident in Grosvenor Road, Southport yesterday, Wednesday, 27 May.

Officers were called at around 3.10pm to reports of two people in a property – officers attended and arrested a 19 year-old man from Seaforth and a 54 year-old woman from the Maghull area on suspicion of burglary.

During a search of the property, officers also recovered keys to two cars an Audi and a Mercedes, both of which are believed to be stolen. The cars will be forensically examined and returned to their owners.

Police were at Grosvenor Court, Southport today, at around 3:45 pm, 27 May 2015 . 

It is believe thieves linked to numerous break-ins in the Southport area have been living illegally in the Grosvenor Road apartments, Southport.

Police have so far seized a stolen Audi and a motorbike from the residents garages at rear of the apartments.

Police forensics are still at the scene, 8pm.

A neighbor said:

“I wasn’t quite sure what was going on but I just saw the police go in with gloves on and search the flat”

The police have not yet released a statement but we will update you as soon as they do.
