Support Southport Offshore Rescue by playing the Trust’s lottery

The team behind the Southport Offshore Rescue Trust’s lottery want to let residents know they will be canvassing for new players in the next few weeks.

A vital part of the trust’s fundraising scheme, the lotto needs as many people as possible to play and volunteers will be canvassing the local area in the coming weeks.

However they will not ask for money and all will have ID badges to prove their identity.

A spokesperson for the Southport Offshore Rescue Trust said: “Lifeboat Lotto would like to stress that the canvassers can be identified by their Lifeboat Lotto ID badges and clothing and they will be signing up new members by standing order only – not collecting cash.

“For less than the price of a pint every week, players can be in with the chance of winning up to £5000.

“Set up in 2010, Lifeboat Lotto provides a funding to the Southport Lifeboat and has raised over £250,000 so far.

“The money is used towards training and new equipment which of course ultimately saves lives. Most recently, the Lotto has paid for a new set of engines for the Lifeboat and two new Honda Quad Bikes.

“Anyone wishing to play can visit our website via www.southport-lifeboat.org.uk.”
