Sun should drop page three across UK

Commenting on news that The Sun in Ireland has dropped topless pictures on page 3, Dave Prentis, General Secretary of UNISON, said:

“Well done to the Sun in Ireland for realising that page three is outdated, sexist and denigrating to women.  “It is ludicrous to justify keeping page 3 in the UK citing – ‘cultural differences’ – the Sun should drop it now. “The tide has turned against showing these patronizing images of women.

The co-op has recently asked for a cover up and the Sun should get with the public mood and do the same.

It is time to put page 3 where it belongs – in the dustbin of history.”
