Storytime Volunteers ‘Formby’ February 28th, 2014 jmr jmr Latest News Shares Comments As many of Southport’s Libraries have already closed Sefton Council would like to encourage interest parents and children to attend Formby library for story and rhyme time. Volunteers are being asked to get involved with a well liked children’s activity at Formby Library. Each week the library, located on Duke Street, runs popular Story and Rhyme time sessions aimed at children under four and their parents. The sessions consist of a short story, singing along to several well known nursery rhymes and then a chance for parents to have a chat while their children do some colouring and drawing. The sessions are led by volunteers and the library is looking for some new recruits to help out. Formby Library manager, Lisa Laisney, said: “These sessions are really popular and are welcomed by children and parents alike. “Such is the demand we are looking for more volunteers with all the relevant safeguarding checks to help out and join in the fun. “So if you enjoy interacting with small children, could spare an hour a week, and are free on a Monday afternoon or a Thursday or Friday morning then please get in touch with the library for more details.” To register an interest please call 01704 874177 o Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
