This morning community support officers armed with speed cameras were identifying motorists going too fast on the Balmoral Drive which is a 20 mph zone, Wednesday 1 July 2015. Drivers caught speeding were issued with warnings and told that they could face further action if they are caught driving dangerously in the future. The crackdown comes after residents complained to the police that drivers were putting other road users, such as cyclists by going too fast. The officer quoted: “We are here to educate drivers, not punish them” Merseyside Police will continue their operation over the coming weeks.
