John Welsby, Managing Director of Conlons Opticians said: “We wanted to mark our momentous year with a challenge and support a local charity so for every pound raised Conlons Opticians has matched the sponsorship. NWCR funds vital research projects to help us understand cancer so we are thrilled to have raised in excess of £5,500 and hope it will make a real difference.” Anne Jackson, Chief Executive of NWCR said: “Without fundraising efforts like this the charity would not be able to thrive and support the projects we do. Given the local incidence of cancer it is critical that that the North West remains at the forefront of cancer research.
