Southport’s Scarisbrick Hotel goes Plastic October 17th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Many regular customers, residents and visitors to the Scarisbrick Hotels, Barons Bar regret the decision by Britannia Hotels to introduce plastic glasses for all drinks served in the hotels Barons Bar which is mainly used by local real ale drinkers and residents. The policy started in the Foghorn Bar, Scarisbrick Avenue, but has recently been extended to all ground floor bars including the 2014 Camra, Good Beer Guide listed Barons Bar which is renowned for its selection and quality of 9 cask ales. Many real ale drinkers will not accept a plastic glass, but most people would admit that a chardonnay, gin and tonic or even tap water does not taste the same out of a ugly plastic type beaker. Most regulars are voting with their feet and reluctantly boycotting the bar while hoping for a change of policy. Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
