A Southport resourcing team complete 15 hour charity challenge

On Saturday 3rd September 2016, a team from recruitment specialist MCL Resourcing, based on Eastbank Street in Southport, donned their walking boots for a gruelling 50km hike to raise money for charity. The team of four braved TrekFest 2016, a demanding 50km hiking route across the Peak District.

Setting off bright and early, the team were in high spirits for the challenge ahead. With only short rest breaks throughout the hike, the team pushed on despite torrential rain that persisted throughout the day. 15 hours later, the team triumphantly completed the 50km route in the pitch black! Crossing the finish line a little after midnight, everyone was thrilled with their achievement and ready to rest their blistered feet.

The team have already raised over £2,200 for Alder Hey Children’s Charity with additional sponsorship still coming in from the event last weekend.

Richard O’Donnell, Managing Director at MCL Resourcing took part in the hike and commented “We are very grateful to everyone that has sponsored us in this challenge. Saturday was very tough but we are delighted to have raised money to support Alder Hey Children’s Charity and the incredible work that they do.”

All the money raised will support Alder Hey Children’s Charity in their work to make Alder Hey a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 275,000 patients and families it cares for every year. The charity helps fund the purchase of life-saving medical equipment and facilities that are making a real difference to families every day.
