Southport’s KGV Biology Quiz Team Excels June 27th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Congratulations to the four KGV Biology students who came second only to Manchester Grammar School in the Society of Biology Quiz (North West) at UCLAN on June 19th. Guy Conlon, Ruth Jones, Amy Sidey and Polly Simpson second place finish put the team above 21 other schools and colleges from across the North-West. This prestigious event challenges the best biology students from around the area with a test of knowledge and understanding of a variety of practical and theoretical biological topics. “We are extremely proud of the team. The Chief Executive of the Society of Biology praised the KGV team for their excellent team-work and commented that we managed to gain 21.5 marks out of 20 in one round! Ours was the only sixth form college amongst the prize-winners,” said Cliff Sharp, Biology teacher at KGV.
