Southport Woman to Climb Snowdon during the night for Charity

Southport woman Sue Mellor will be climbing Snowdon on Friday 13 May for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Sue said: “I’ve decided this year to help raise funds for Alzheimer’s society”.

“I’m doing a mountain climb to the top of Snowdon & back at night on 13th May 16 for the Alzheimer’s society”.

“It would be amazing if you could donate any amount you can to help us raise as much as possible to help fight this cruel disease xx please can you share this page on your wall even if you can’t afford to give xx

“Everyone knows someone with dementia……We need to find a cure”.

“Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

“Thank you so much”

Dementia is one of the biggest health and social care challenges we face today, and it is one that we as a society cannot afford to ignore any longer. 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 will die with some form of dementia and as the population ages increasing numbers of us are being affected. By 2021 there will be more than a million people living with dementia in the UK, not to mention the families and carers who will also be affected. Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity. We exist to champion the rights of everyone with dementia and those who care for them . We also fund innovative research in the areas of cause, cure, care and prevention. There are currently 800,000 people in the UK living with dementia. Dementia can happen to anyone and there is currently no cure. But with the right support, people can live well with dementia.

If you would like to donate you can do so here.
