Southport & West Lancs CAMRA very concerned about London Pub April 1st, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Southport & West Lancs CAMRA are very concerned to hear that we might be about to lose another Victorian heritage pub, yet again to developers eager to create new properties when it is alleged that there are 6,000 empty properties in Sefton. I am attaching a press release, with supporting attachments which relate to the National Planning Policy Framework, itself purporting to protect community assets such as local pubs. This is supposed to be taken into consideration when deciding planning applications, but one wonders whether this is usually the case. I am hoping for press support, and copying this to John Pugh our Southport MP, in the hope that he might bear some influence. Please don’t let’s lose yet another great pub. We have lost so many others locally recently.
