Steve Burr and Keith Briggs have had three high quality training sessions at the JMO Sports Park this week preparing for Saturday’s Southport v North Ferriby Vanarama National League fixture. It really is a big three points on offer with the Sandgrounders aiming to create a bigger gap from the drop zone.

Steve Burr said “We are all looking forward to Saturday. It is a big 90 minutes for us. We have done really well to get in the position we have and now we need to kick on. Last week was tough for everyone with the loss of Josh and we’ve all had to regroup this week.Lets create a really positive atmosphere on Saturday for the lads and lets continue the good work that has taken us out of the bottom four.”

Steve Burr will have on loan Oxford United centre half Robbie Cundy available to make his home Merseyrail Community Stadium home debut. Cundy was outstanding on his debut at Barrow but was cup tied last weekend. The treatment table has seen a great deal of action this week with Jamie Allen, Delial Brewster and Jack Higgins under various stages of treatment while Jordon Lussey is a longer term casualty.

Everyone offers Josh Thompson their best wishes after his mid week operation and the club would like to say thank you to everyone who has sent cards and messages to Josh which will be passed on to Josh.
