Southport ‘Strut Your Mutt’ for Qeenscourt Hospice

This fun 5k sponsored dog walk is taking place along Ainsdale Beach on Sunday 9th April and we would love you and your four legged friend to sign up to take part and to help us reach our target of 100 dogs.

The walk starts from Pontins Holiday Camp and there will be free parking available for all our dogs (and their owners).  Heading off between 9.30 and 10.00 am, walkers will travel south along the beautiful coastline towards Formby for 2.5k before returning to Pontins.

We are delighted to once again have the support of Barking Mad as the main event sponsor and also our two associate sponsors My Vet Ltd and Johnsons Toyota Southport.

The novelty of this event is that you would be asking your friends and family to sponsor your dog rather than you, and we have some great prizes up for grabs for the dog that raises the most funds.

Registration is £5 in advance (available until 7th April) and for anyone signing up on the day it will be £10.

One supporter taking part this year is Emma Turner who really loves dogs, she has four of them Sam, Bobby, Alfie and Flynn and together with her fiancé they will all be joining in.

Emma has chosen to take part because Queenscourt holds very special memories for her after our team provided care for her mum Jane Turner.    She thought Strut your Mutt would be the perfect way to remember her mum and at the same time raise some vital funds for the hospice.

Emma said “Queenscourt provided exceptional care for my mum, myself and my family will always be grateful.  Strut your Mutt is a fun way for me to get involved and help to raise any funds I can for the hospice”.   Sam, Bobby, Alfie and Flynn are already raising funds, so if your dog would like to join in the fun then please sign them up now to take part in Strut your Mutt.

Taking part in this event and raising sponsorship for Queenscourt will make a real difference to all the patients and their families we care for. 1 in 3 of us will be touched by Hospice care, nearly all of us can think of a friend, relative, colleague or neighbour who has benefited from the free professional support we provide

To sign your dog up please visit our website queenscourt.org.uk/strutyourmutt or call the fundraising team on 01704 517420 for an application form.
