Southport Storm is a newly formed Rugby League Club based at Tarleton Rugby Club. They are enjoying their first season in the North West counties league and are constantly improving and recruiting new players. The club already has an impressive number of supporters who attend home and away matches. They held their first fundraising night on Saturday with special guest former St Helens and Great Britain captain Paul Sculthorpe mbe.

The event was a huge success, star struck guests enjoyed Paul’s talk on his career highlights and some hilarious stories that he had been a part of throughout his glittering career. Paul (or Scully as he is most commonly known) stayed for the entire night and mingled with all the guests and was happy to sign shirts and have countless photos taken. He was a truly class act and was a big part of the event’s success. There was live entertainment from singer Dave Orritt who gave a fantastic performance that was enjoyed by all.

Club founder and Captain Dave Oliver and Club Secretary Tracy Johnson would like to thank Tarleton Rugby Club for their fantastic hospitality and constant support, Langdon’s for the catering which was delicious and all our sponsors Jewson, Frog Rock LTD, Hanlon Ward and Southport DJ and Dave Orritt for the superb live music. All in all it was a spectacular night.
