Southport restaurant launches new organic vegetarian and vegan wine list

25th January 2017

Trattoria 51 has introduced a diverse range of organic vegetarian and vegan wines.

The popular Italian restaurant, which is renowned for its extensive wine list, has extended its offerings to cater for guests who lead an ‘organic green lifestyle’.

Contrary to widespread belief, vegetarians and vegans are often limited to wine choices as many are produced using various animal by-products, which is why restaurateur Attilio Sergi wants to provide alternative grape variations.

Attilio said: “Over the years we have noticed a growing trend for those adopting a vegetarian and vegan lifestyle. To ensure that there’s something that all of our guests can enjoy, we frequently update our menus and that’s why we wanted to introduce a wine selection that can be perfectly paired to complement our dishes.

“95% of our wine selection is vegan or vegetarian, which means that our drinkers and diners are not limited in choice. To accompany the wine selection, our classic Italian menus all feature a number of delicious meat-free pasta, pizza and risotto dishes to name a few.”

In a bid to cater for the dietary requirements of all of its guests, Trattoria 51 also serves up several gluten-free dishes alongside its extensive vegetarian, vegan and organic selection.

Attilio added: “While organic vegetarian and vegan wines are becomingly more widely available in supermarkets, many restaurants are yet to adopt this holistic approach.

“Whether guests are popping in for a couple of drinks after work or want to enjoy the full Trattoria 51 experience, we hope that our new wine offerings will become a firm favourite with our guests who often feel restricted when it comes to finding suitable wines when out dining and drinking – cin cin!”
