An elated Bill commented:

“I am so proud to have been awarded one of the top prizes in Old Pulteney’s competition, at only my second attempt. I will also be just as happy to taste the prize! This lighthouse is located at the mouth of the River Mersey on the New Brighton side, also known as Perch Rock Lighthouse and my photo was produced using the technique known as HDR. I look forward to tasting a dram of Old Pulteney – single malts along with photography are passions I strongly enjoy.”

Running for its eleventh year, the acclaimed photography competition celebrates the coastal location and heritage of ‘The Maritime Malt’ Old Pulteney while discovering some of the UK’s most talented amateur photographers. This year’s competition received hundreds of entries from across the country, each showcasing the exceptional diversity and essence of the beautiful British coastline. From striking sunset shots to breathtaking beaches, each photograph expressed its own story of the sea.

Margaret Mary Clarke, Senior Brand Manager of Old Pulteney said:

“Now celebrating eleven years of the Old Pulteney competition, Wish You Were Here has uncovered some of the UK’s most gifted amateur photographers. The competition is a real highlight within our Old Pulteney calendar and we always look forward to viewing the range of stunning photographs year after year. This year, Bill’s incredible entry instantly impressed the judges with its dramatic ambience and striking composition. Congratulations to Bill on behalf of the Old Pulteney team!”

The Old Pulteney Wish You Were Here competition is run in association with the Sunday Express.

The competition winner was revealed as Gillian Kennett, from Louth in Lincolnshire, who was awarded a cash prize of £2,500 and a trip for two to the Old Pulteney Distillery in Wick.
