Southport remembers victims of the Holocaust at Christ Church

Southport remembered victims of the Holocaust today during a public memorial ceremony held at Christ church on Lord Street.

Local Cllr Sue Maguire, Cllr Maureen Fearn, Tommy Mann and the Mayor of Sefton were among the congregation.

This was the 15th tribute paid in Sefton as the ceremony is held on the nearest Sunday to Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD).

Each year, Holocaust Memorial Day falls on January 27 – the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland.
