A Southport man who absconded from prison has been found.

Lancashire Police began searching for Keith John Knight, 26, after he absconded from HMP Kirkham on Friday, June 17. Today, a police spokesperson confirmed he was located and detained on Wednesday evening (July 6)

Knight, who was serving a four year sentence for robbery, has links to Merseyside and Lancashire, in particular Southport, Burscough, Preston and Blackpool.

Police warned members of the public not to approach him and have appealed for Knight to hand himself in.

Detective Sergeant Angela Grey said: “If Keith Knight himself sees this appeal, I would also advise him to hand himself in at a local police station as we are actively seeking him and it’s just a matter of time before we find him.”
