The father-of-three confirmed his name, age and address as legal proceedings were relayed to him through an interpreter. The case was promptly sent to the crown court because of its serious nature and Mr Hanzens was released on conditional bail. The Court ordered Hanzens to abide by a curfew between 11.30pm and 7.30am at his Central Avenue home and report to Southport police station three times a week. Merseyside Police charged Mr. Hanzens, of Central Avenue in Southport, with possession of firearms last night. He was set to appear before Liverpool magistrates this morning. Officers were called to Elkstone Road at about 12.55am after shots were heard. Merseyside police carried out searches of the area and found what was believed to have been a firearm in a nearby car.
