On the 10th night of their holiday the friends decided to go out for a meal and a drink, when they returned to their apartment in the early hours of the morning they disturbed intruders who were in the process of robbing their apartment. The intruders fled the scene within seconds never to be seen again. Once inside their apartment Rebecca and Carlene found the place has been ransacked and items missing from their suitcases. But what worried Rebecca and Carlene the most was the intruders left an 8 inch kitchen knife behind on the table, and a half drunk bottle of beer. They called the police who are currently investigating the incident. Police took away the knife and bottle to be forensically tested. The thieves gained entry into the apartment through the main front doors (with a key) then smashed a balcony door to make it look they had broken in through the balcony. The thieves got away with an iphone5, a digi camera and 100 Euros in cash. This is the second time Rebecca and Carlene have been to Cyprus and this is the second time they have been robbed. Rebecca and Carlene said they will never go back to Cyprus again and would warn anyone thinking of staying at a workers apartment to think twice before making a decision to go.
