Southport family fury after being barred The Waterfront Pub

Letter to the editor

Dear OTSNews.co.uk, I would like to share my families absolutely disgraceful experience at The Waterfront Hungry Horse pub, Promenade, Southport.

“Myself and the family went to enjoy a nice Father’s Day meal with our children and grandchild at The Waterfront, Southport. The staff are incompetent, unprofessional and more interested in looking out for themselves!”

“My meal arrived, first complaint – missing chicken breast, the  plate was taken back to kitchen and came back about 3 minutes later, same burger just had chicken added!

“Second complaint – gravy was cold, supposedly replaced, more like reheated! And finally I bit into burger and a large splinter pierced top of mouth!

“I spoke to not one but three! supposed ‘managers’… how many does one pub need! My complaint was treated with contempt, my request for full meal to be refunded was refused, despite all the issues I had experienced.”

“I asked for contact details for head office, this was not forthcoming! Eventually, we were told could have full refund if we never went there again! So much for the customer always being right!

“Admittedly my son-in-law lost his temper, as we were treating us like idiots, for which he was told to leave, which he did.  We were then told we wouldn’t be getting refund or contact details as, in their opinion, a member of staff had been “threatened”!! Thanks for ruining what should have been a lovely family meal!”

“Below tis the response I have received this morning! They’ve not even addressed the issues I had, more concerned that they have barred me! I did nothing other than complain about the food and incident of the splinter and asked for refund!”
