SOUTHPORT CHARITY APPEALS FOR LUCKY RUNNERS October 3rd, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments LOCAL CHARITY APPEALS FOR LUCKY RUNNERS Run the race of your life, and help others see a better life! That is the message from local charity, Galloway’s Society for the Blind, based in Southport who are appealing for runners that have been lucky enough to get their own place in the Virgin London Marathon 2014 to join the Galloway’s running team on the start line. Emma Wilson, Fundraiser at Galloway’s, commented, “The Virgin London Marathon is one of those events like no other, it’s on everybody’s bucket list and most people would love the chance to take part. We are appealing for anybody who has this chance and has got their place in the ballot to come forward and run for Galloway’s Society for the Blind. By running for Galloway’s, we would help you make this prestigious event one that you will never forget by offering you advice, hints and tips with your training, a running vest, fundraising support and contact with other Galloway’s runners for peer support.” Emma continued, “Without events like this we simply couldn’t continue to help local visually impaired people to see a better life by helping them to regain their independence and minimise the effects of living with reduced vision.” Anybody who has their place confirmed in the marathon and would like to run with Galloway’s or to find out more should contact Emma on 01704809109 or email:[email protected] Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
