ABOVE: Malcolm’s last journey as a bus driver ends on Eastbank Street Southport 26th Feb 2014. ABOVE: Friends and collegues greet Mal on his last day. Malcolm’s illustrious career began in 1982 with the former Merseyside PTE. He remained with the Eastbank Street outfit throughout its merger of Merseybus, Southport District Buses and latterly Arriva. Mal achieved several accolades during his time driving, such as bus driver of the year and even acquired one of the prestigious ambassadors of Southport awards for his services to the travelling public of Southport ABOVE: Mal hands over the bus to his colleague on Eastbank Street to keep the Park & Ride service on schedule. Many will remember Malcolm as an every day present driver of the route 40 but more recently his endeavours on the Park & Ride service, often lending a hand going beyond his course of duty. Malcolm will be missed on his busses. His professionalism and demeanour preceded him over the past 32 years. On behalf of his many friends and colleagues they would like to take this opportunity of wishing him a long, happy and well deserved retirement!
