Ronnie is undoubtedly the biggest name in the sport and has rarely played exhibitions, so this is a great chance to see a very special head-to-head match – their last meeting in June saw Ronnie make a 147 maximum break and both players are known for their fast, exciting play plus an arsenal of trick shots!

The players will be joined at the event by the legendary John Virgo who will be on hand to provide expert analysis and entertain the crowd.

Southport snooker legend Les Dodd is through to the World Senior Snooker Finals 2012 after being victorious in the qualifiers at Sheffield three weeks ago.

There were 48 players in the qualifiers and the top two went through to the finals. Les won his qualifying match 2-0 2-0 and 2-1 against Steve Meakin.

The finals consist of 16 players who are picked from a random draw (best of three games). The finals are to be played at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth and will be televised live on SKY Sports on Saturday 27th October at 7:00pm

58-year-old Les is drawn against Canadian snooker player Alain Robidoux.

Les won The 2011 National Seniors in Wales. He said:” I have been practicing four hours a day for the last month and I’m in good form at the moment so there’s no reason why I can’t do well in the competition”.

Les is pictured above with his good friend and snooker sensation Jimmy White.
