SEQUENCE DANCE IN MEMORY OF DEVOTED COUPLE December 12th, 2013 admin Latest News Latest Whats On Shares Comments SEQUENCE DANCE IN MEMORY OF DEVOTED COUPLE A group of fundraisers from Burscough are hosting a Winter Sequence Dance in memory of a couple who worked tirelessly to support a local cancer charity Peggy and Alan Wooden were members of the Burscough committee for North West Cancer Research (NWCR) and sadly passed away in 2010 Due to the committee closing shortly after, friends and family decided to host an annual event to continue to support NWCR which was very close to their hearts Organiser and friend, Ray Parks said: “Peggy and Alan were fantastic people, they had hearts of gold and worked so hard to raise funds for NWCR. We are really looking forward to hosting the dance again this year and reflect on the wonderful friends we once had The event will take place on Sunday, December 15 at 8pm until 11.30pm at Burscough British Legion, Lord Street, Burscough Light refreshments will be served and there will be a chance to win prizes in a fantastic raffle. All proceeds will to NWCR and guests are also welcome to bring prizes along Anne Jackson, Chief Executive of NWCR, said: “We are really excited for the sequence dance, Peggy and Alan were such lovely people and it is proved by the fantastic turnout each year “All funds raised will support research into the causes of cancer in the local region. Sequence dancing is set to take place throughout the whole evening. Tickets are priced at £6 and can be bought from Ray Parks on 01704 892 346.
