Senior Road Users Event

Sefton Council is holding a road users event offering support and advice for those over the age of 60.

There is currently more traffic on the roads than ever before with over 35 million registered vehicles in the UK compared with only 12 million in the 1970s.  The increase in congestion, plus deteriorating eyesight, longer reaction times and even the use of prescribed medication are affecting many over 60s safety as road users, resulting in the number of road traffic accidents involving this age group rising.

The Sefton Senior Road User’s Event, led by the Council’s Highway Safety Team, aims to ensure that road users get the advice and support they need to keep themselves and others safe on the borough’s roads.

The event takes place on Wednesday, March 1 from 10am-2pm at Maghull Town Hall with free tea, coffee and lunch provided.

Places are limited so to book a place for you or a family member, call 0151 934 4259 or email road.safety@sefton.gov.uk
