Sefton say: “Ainsdale beach will be open for cars this  Easter weekend”

Ainsdale Beach will be open to cars all weekend – despite it being closed past few weeks.

A Council spokespersons quoted: ” The beach remains fully open for visitors but there will be no public parking on the beach during the winter.

“We decided to close beach parking last year due to continued budget reductions by Central Government.”

“During the summer we evaluated the decision and it was agreed that the car park would close during winter 2016 as the cost savings associated with the decision can be used to protect other services.”

The council blamed cuts in funding from the government, which has seen the authority cut its Sefton Coast & Countryside team by half over the past six years.
