The Coastal Road, Ainsdale – Highway Maintenance Works
Highway maintenance works are set to start on The Coastal Road, Ainsdale between the junctions with Weld Road and A565 Liverpool Road.
The work is due to begin on Monday, March 21 and will take up to 4 days to complete, weather dependent.
A diversion route for all traffic will be in place via Liverpool Road, Waterloo Road, Lulworth Road and Weld Road.
Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will also be maintained at all times.
Southport resident, Ian Tasker said: “Thousands of visitors expected on the Bank Holiday and the road closure will put many off. The Coastal Road also provides access to Ainsdale beach, and is used by thousands of residents.
