Sefton Cares

A successful campaign has been re-launched to encourage people to drop in on relatives, friends and neighbours to help them feel less isolated.

As the Winter nights draw in, Sefton Council, in partnership with Sefton CVS, are restarting the Sefton Cares initiative following the positive outcomes of last year’s campaign.

The project, which is supported by a range of information about local services and other opportunities, asks people to ‘have a brew and a chat’ with people who may be isolated within our communities.

A dedicated page on Sefton Council website provides useful links to information to help keep people healthy, well and active. This includes the Sefton Directory with information on local services and details on clubs and activities in the community.

Cllr Paul Cummins, Cabinet Member Adult Social Care, said: “Spending just a few minutes with someone you know can help them feel less isolated, you may be the only friendly face they see from one day to the next.

“There is a lot going on in local communities to reduce social isolation and to encourage people to be active, healthy and well.

“Last year the campaign worked really well so let’s all help reduce social isolation this winter and show that Sefton Cares!”
