Sefton Business Village Market Stalls Are they a flop in Southport? May 7th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Sefton Business Village Market Stalls Are they a flop in Southport? Sefton Council were offering existing stallholders free stalls today (Tuesday 7th May 2013) at their outdoor market in King Street, Southport. They were offered free stalls to make the outdoor market look busy and full. About a third of the stalls were left empty giving a bleak impression to visitors and shoppers alike. Is the market a flop? Sefton Business Village Partnerships have been operating since 2002, with funding from the Regional Development Agency, Sefton Council, relevant Parish Councils, and the private sector, and have proved to be very successful vehicle for partnership working between the public sector, the local business community, and the voluntary sector for developing and delivering projects that benefit the business community and the public realm. The alternative option of not continuing Sefton Business Village Partnerships, would lead to loss of business engagement, the loss of valuable and free expertise that the business and the voluntary sectors bring to the table, and critically Sefton Council’s ability to demonstrate business sector involvement as part of the Comprehensive Area Assessment regulations.
