Schoolgirls rescue a woman being assaulted on Eastbank Street, Southport

Two schoolgirls from Stanley High School have been commended by Merseyside Police after the prevented a woman from being further assaulted on Eastbank Street earlier this month.

Officers were called to reports of an unprovoked assault outside the Subway fast food chain at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, February 2 2016.

Both Megan and Chelsea have been commended by the local police after intervening to protect a stranger. Not only did they stop an assault from escalating further, they stayed and comforted the victim until the police arrived.
