12-year-old CTK student hit by a Mercedes outside School

Update

A 12-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a van in Birkdale.

Police were called to the junction of Stamford Road and Bedford Road shortly after 3pm, to reports of a road traffic collision. A police spokesman told OTSnews.co.uk that a 12-year-old girl had been in collision with a Mercedes car at the scene. She was then taken to Ormskirk hospital by ambulance.

OTS has since spoken to friend of the girl and understands her injuries are not thought to be serious. Police remain at the scene and drivers are advised to avoid the area.

School child struck by car in Southport

The emergency services were called to Stamford Road at around 3.15 today, Friday 13 November 2015.

A member of the public contacted OTS news quoting: “A Christ the King pupil has been knocked over on the corner of Stamford and Bedford Road, I believe she was wheeled back in school by teachers in a wheel chair”.

The condition of the child is not known at the present time. An update will follow.
