Scarisbrick church targeted by thieves

These images were taken from a burglary at a church in the Scarisbrick area that occurred at some point overnight on Sunday 16th October.

The offenders smashed a window at the rear of the church and once inside they conducted an untidy search and forced a safe open and stole money from within.

Additionally they broke into a collection box which contained money which was being saved for a leaving present for the organist. Worryingly, there was another church in the Scarisbrick area which was also targeted during the same timeframe and again the offenders performed an untidy search and seemingly left empty handed but not before causing damage to property within the office area.

Police are urging congregations of local churches in the area to remain vigilant at all times and to check the security of the premises. If anyone has information about these recent burglaries, please get in touch with us by dialling 101. You can also pass information anonymously via Crimestoppers quoting log number 1040 of the 17th October.
