Sainsbury’s set for green light in Bispham Road Southport! January 29th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments Sainsbury’s is set to get the go-ahead to use a property on Bispham Road in Southport as a new store despite a petition of more than 600 signatures against the plans. Planning officers at Sefton Council have recommended the plans be approved. Permission to change the use of the property from office to retail use is not required. A petition of 621 signatures against the application has been received expressing concerns about the impact on the area and for local businesses. Lord Ronnie Fearn has endorsed the petition. The supermarket also applied for planning permission in a separate application for the installation of a new shop front, ATM and ram-raid bollards. The council’s planning department has already approved this and no objections were received for this application. The application for the varying of conditions is set to be discussed at a meeting on Wednesday (5th February 2014). Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
