Born from a massive public demand, ROXY MUSIQUE are the tribute to Roxy Music, the “most influential band of all time”.

This friday 14th October ROXY MUSIQUE will be playing at Southport’s Fox and Goose, Cable Street.  £3 entry on door before 10 £4 after.

Roxy Music are remembered for their timeless hits from the early ’80s ‘More Than This’, ‘Avalon’, ‘Oh Yeah’ and their chart topping tribute to the late John Lennon ‘Jealous Guy’ .

In the 1970s Roxy were truly cutting edge and paved the way for punk (Sex Pistols), gothic rock (Siouxsie and the Banshees), disco (Chic), new romantics (Duran Duran) and alternative rock (U2) and also massively influenced such diverse acts as the Human League, INXS, Madness, Radiohead and Suede.

Roxy Musique deliver a two set show, with set one exploring Roxy Music’s daring and creative repertoire from 72-75 and set two targeting the later hit singles and giving the audience the chance to “dance away the heartache”.

Fans of Roxy Music’s early period (the Amazonians) will be treated to such sonic delights as Re-make/Re-model,  If There is Something,  Ladytron,  Chance Meeting, Do the Strand, Editions of You, The Bogus Man,  In Every Dreamhome a Heartache, Just Like You, Amazona, Serenade, A Song for Europe, Mother of Pearl, The Thrill of it All, Out of the Blue, If It Takes All Night, Prairie Rose  and  Both Ends Burning as well as the early hit singles.

Fans of the later period (the Avalonians) will be thrilled in the second half with tracks like Trash and Spin Me Round from Manifesto, Same Old Scene and Midnight Hour from Flesh and Blood (number 1 album in 1980) and The Main Thing, Take a Chance With Me , To Turn You On and Avalon from the Avalon album (number 1 in 1982).

All the other songs in set two, from Dance Away to More Than This, were top ten hits of the day and have become true
