Rotary Club of Southport 24th Bus-Am raises £2,700 for Local charities April 15th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments 24th Bus-Am raises £2,700 for Local charities The Rotary Club of Southport Link’s 24th Golf Bus-Am tournament, held at The Hesketh Golf Club last week, raised over £2,700 for local charities. This means that this golf event has now raised over £46,000 since it started in 1990. All of the monies raised have been used to support a wide range of local and international charities including, amongst others, The “Heart of Southport” appeal, Queenscourt Hospice, and the Royal Liverpool School for the Blind. This year’s event was held in sunny and cool conditions at The Hesketh Golf Club. A total of 13 teams took part and the winning team was the team from M. J. Quinn with a score of 89 points points, closely followed by a team from ABN AMRO with 88 points. ‘Nearest to the pin’ was won by James Elliott of the ABN AMRO team; ‘longest drive’ by Graham Temple a guest of the M. J. Quinn team The day was sponsored by Premier Wealth Management and was celebrated with a dinner in the club house Arrangements are now being made for the silver jubilee of this event which will be held on 27th April 2015, again at The Hesketh Golf Club.
