RISE IN NHS CLAIMS LEADS TO RECRUITMENT PUSH FOR SOUTHPORT LAW FIRM August 7th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments RISE IN NHS CLAIMS LEADS TO RECRUITMENT PUSH FOR SOUTHPORT LAW FIRM One of the UK’s leading medical negligence and serious injury law firms is recruiting five senior solicitors to support its continued growth, following a significant increase in the number of medical negligence cases it receives. Fletchers Solicitors is seeking five solicitors with at least four years’ medical litigation experience to join its 20-strong specialist team, which now handles 1 in every 15 medical negligence cases in the UK. The new recruits will be responsible for managing the growing list of clients seeking legal support from the firm after suffering from medical negligence. The Southport firm has reported a 25 per cent increase in the volume of cases it has received against medical professionals and healthcare bodies since the start of the year, compared with 2012. According to CEO Ed Fletcher, that number is likely to continue to rise. He said: “Cuts to NHS funding have had a clear impact on front-line services, and in a culture where mistakes are actively concealed, more patients are at risk of harm. The revelations of the Mid Staffordshire scandal and now the findings of the Keogh review have highlighted the poor standards of care in our hospitals. As a result, an increasing number of people who have suffered from medical negligence are starting to realise they are not alone and feel justified in finding answers. “To support this growth, we’re continuing to invest in high quality talent to ensure we provide the best possible service to our clients. Compassion and understanding are at the heart of the Fletchers offering, so we’ll be looking for these key qualities in our new staff. It’s an exciting time for the business at the moment and it’s fantastic to see it continue to expand.” With a focus on career progression and a healthy work-life balance, Fletchers Solicitors holds the ‘Investors in People’ Gold Award, which recognises excellence in developing and supporting staff.
