Rescue Ainsdale beach from McAleavy’s damaging control

Resort resident Carina Baylis has set up an online petition that she wants to deliver to Sefton Council, Margaret Carney and Southport MP John Pugh, but she will 100 signatures in order to do so.

Carina says: “Dave McAleavy, a Sefton council officer from Parbold, has control of Ainsdale beach and is ruining it for the community.

“Mr McAleavy decides when to close the beach to cars, regardless of the damage it does to tourism and regardless of the fact that people then park around the beach approach making pedestrian access difficult and dangerous. He reduced the beach parking area by 50% driving much needed tourism away. When the rangers moved the posts to allow more cars on to the beach when they were queueing up the coast road, he moved them back”.

“McAleavy is responsible for more and more of our beautiful beach being taken over by marram grass and sand dunes. Ainsdale beach should be run and controlled by Ainsdale people, not some unelected bloke who lives miles away and doesn’t care about our community”.
