Charlie’s Southport F.C  host Braintree on Tuesday night at Haig Avenue and Coleman’s squad is bidding for a Non League club record sixth successive home win.

Southport are yet to beat Braintree or even score a goal at home against the Essex side having lost 2-0 and 4-0 in our two previous encounters. In the five games between the two sides we have scored three goals which all came in the memorable win last season which went a long way to securing Conference survival.

Braintree come to Haig Avenue in eighth place but they have games in hand on most of the teams above them and a win on Tuesday would push them back into the play off places.

Jay Walker returns to the Southport squad having had to sit out last Thursdays match due to playing against the club he is on loan from-Forest Green Rovers.
