A POPULAR national patisserie chain is thought to be interested in taking over the empty former Russell & Bromley building on Lord Street.

An offer from an unknown party, but believed to be Patisserie Valerie, has been made to lease the currently vacant unit in the town centre.
Sources close to the deal have confirmed that a café-patisserie style development has been earmarked for the ground floor.

Such a company known to be rapidly expanding across the country is the popular Patisserie Valerie chain.

When approached, a spokesman for Patisserie Valerie, said: “The North West, and Southport in particular, is a location of interest to Patisserie Valerie.

“We are looking at a number of options and hope to bring our store to the area shortly, but nothing is confirmed yet.”
