Ponies on Lord Street Southport December 19th, 2014 jmr jmr Latest News Latest Uncategorized Shares Comments A lady greeted Southport shoppers with a Pony on Lord Street today (Friday 19th December) raising money for the fantastic charity The Phoenix Children’s Foundation. Phoenix Children’s Foundation fundraises all over the UK visiting stores, town centres as well as attending various events throughout the year. On our travels we also visit care homes and special needs schools with the ponies. In the long term we aim to build a purpose built canal boat which will offer families vital rest bite time. The Foundation support both individual children and groups in the area, funding various therapies and equipment, however if any children in the area require funding for either therapy or specialist equipment they must not hesitate to send a request. The Foundation has seen great support from the public and businesses in the area, one of which being Geraldine Rees who was the first woman to race in the grand national who kindly stables our Shetland ponies when we a fundraising in the area (GSR Thoroughbreds). We also work closely with many RDA Centres in the area, supporting both Bowlers RDA and Formby RDA funding various riders, who in return also stable our ponies overnight. For More information on the fantastic work the Phoenix Charity does click on the linkwww.phoenixcharity.org or contact: Melissa Wright, Office Manager, Phoenix Childrens Foundation, Tel 01530 267116 Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
