Police respond to alleged speeding motorists – Wennington Road, Southport

Merseyside police were monitoring traffic along  Wennington Road, Southport following a call from a resident with concerns of speeding motorists in the area, Tuesday 19 July 2016.

last week a Southport resident wrote a letter to Southport MP John Pugh, Highways department and traffic Police division urging police to park a hidden radar speed trap van on Wennington Road, Southport to catch speeding motorists.

Nick Segal said: “This is Concerning the Health and Safety of your Public and Private Residents and Peaceful Inhabitants. Residing at Poulton Court/Wennington Road, Southport.”

“Motor Vehicles are traveling at Dangerous Speeds outside a residence 82b Wennington Road. This is where elderly and infirm residents live.”

“Reference Dangerous Driving at speeds exceeding 50. M.P.H. (Un officially recorded)”

“They find it disturbing, “an accident waiting to happen” a quote from a concerned resident.”

“Therefore, If you would like to increase revenue.”

“You may park a hidden radar speed trap van on Wennington Road Southport near to Poulton Court.”

“Monday to Friday, Between the hours of 06.00.am. And 09.00.am.”
