Police execute drugs warrant in Rose Crescent Ainsdale May 10th, 2014 jmr jmr Latest News Shares Comments Merseyside Police can confirm an investigation is underway following the discovery of cannabis plants at a house in Ainsdale today, Friday, 9 May. Officers executed a warrant at a property on Rose Crescent at around 11.50am. Once inside, they found 40 cannabis plants in the loft of the house. Officers from the force’s Matrix Serious & Organised Crime Cannabis Dismantling team attended and dismantled the associated equipment. As a result of enquiries, a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman from Ainsdale were arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis. They have been taken to a police station on Merseyside where they will be questioned by officers. Neighbourhood Inspector for Ainsdale, Jim Atherton, said: “Cannabis is a really damaging drug and its growth in our communities can fuel other crimes. “I want to take this opportunity to reassure people in Ainsdale that we will be relentless in our efforts to crackdown on any form of drug dealing or drug supply. “I would appeal to anyone who notices any suspicious activity, or believes cannabis is being grown in their area, to call us and report it.” Anyone with information can call officers via the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
