Police close off woodland after body discovered

A body has been found in woodland in Southport, Thursday 19 January 2017.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Foul Lane around 2pm after a member of the public reported finding the body at the rear of Meols Cop Industrial Estate.

The 30-year-old deceased male was discovered inside a barn on the road to the rear of Meols Cop Industrial estate.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson for said: “Officers were called to Foul Lane in Southport today following reports the body of a man had been found.

“Officers attended at 2pm and found the body of a man in his 30s.”
