A reader from Southport has contacted us today in regard to an incident that the police are too busy to investigate.

The incident took place on Friday 17th July at around 6pm on the corner of East bank Street and Lord Street. The owner of the bike had left it briefly for his friends to watch over it when a man aged around 18 got on it and rode it away.

The 14 year-old owner waited till after eleven o’clock and he did not bring it back.

The owner quoted:

“It was a bright green Specialised mountain bike.  It was exactly four weeks old and it was the first night of my school summer holidays”

The police have been informed but they are too busy to take a statement for a few days and I know there are cctv cameras on this corner but I don’t know how to get to see the film etc”.

Anyone with information that will lead getting the bike back can contact OTSnews and we will pass the information on or alternatively call Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
