POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was injured when he came off his bike in Scarisbrick.

Around 7.20pm on Tuesday 30 April, a man was riding his red Ducati along Southport Road, heading south, between Bescar Brow Lane (Morris Dancers pub) and Black Moss Lane.

The 41 year old from Southport lost control and fell off his bike, which then continued to travel along Southport Road for a considerable distance, bouncing off the nearside kerb before hitting the back of a moving black BMW.

PC Damian Whittle said: “If anybody witnessed this collision I would urge them to contact police. In particular, if anybody saw the Ducati travelling in the area prior to the collision, then please come forward.”

The rider suffered injuries to his hands, arms and abdomen.

Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
