We are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Ormskirk in which more than £100,000 worth of items were stolen.

The house on Burscough Road was broken into sometime between 12.40am and 4am on Sunday, January 24, when offenders have made off with a blue BMW M5, a grey Landrover Discovery and a white Volkswagen Crafter van.

Inside the van were two green and red stripy racing go-karts and associated equipment, together with a black DGI flying drone.

The home’s occupants, including small children, were asleep upstairs at the time of the burglary.

ots-burg-2The BMW has since been recovered from the Sandhills area of Liverpool and the VW van from Bootle.

Unfortunately the go-karts had been removed from the van and remain unaccounted for. The Landrover – registration number MK14 XOC – has also not been located as yet.

DS Stephen Monk of Lancashire Police said: “This burglary has had a huge impact on the family concerned.

“Upon the incident being reported officers were quickly in the vicinity.

“The van has headed out of Ormksirk towards the Maghull area along the A59 and would have had extensive damage to the side and the rear lights.

Anybody with information is urged to contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting reference 0251 of January 24, 2016.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
